Manny, Be Manny—Somewhere else.

Let me just say right off the bat, I am not interested in seeing the antics of Manny Ramirez in the Bronx. I am surprised the situation in Boston only got as ugly as it did. Can you picture Manny pulling one of his famous 'ouchie, my knee has a boo-boo, I can't play' routines with Joe Girardi? Ramirez in either New York uniform would be an all out disaster IF either team were to fall short of expectation of it's 'adoring' fans (winning every world series for the rest of eternity). Yankees fans have a tough enough time acknowledging the greatness of A-Rod (instead being ridiculously harsh to a man who in spite of his playoff short comings, is remarkably consistent year after year).

Manny would be an incredible addition to any ball club. To use an old Steinbrenner-ism,
he would in fact put 'meat in the seats'. He would almost certainly drive in an ungodly amount of runs, hit homers so far they would come equip with in-flight movies, and occasionally even play like he is capable. But the roller coaster ride that is Ramirez would prove too wild a show for even the most devout of Yankee fans.
